Battlefield 2(commonly abbreviated to BF2) is a computer game by the Swedish developer Digital Illusions. During development, Trauma Studios contributed to the development of the game after it was acquired by Digital Illusions CE. Battlefield 2 is published by Electronic Arts and is the third full game in the Battlefield series, released on June 21, 2005 in North America for the computer. The latest version is v1.50, which was released on September 1, 2009. Players fight in a modern battlefield, using modern weapon systems. Battlefield 2 is a first-person shooter with some strategy and RPG elements. The single player features missions that involve clashes between US Marines, China and the fictional Middle East Coalition. The multiplayer aspect of the game allows players to organize into squads that come under the leadership of a single commander to promote teamwork.
